Brooks Crankshaw

Managing Director

Brooks Crankshaw is a Managing Director who leads Balmoral Advisors’ Services industry practice. Brooks combines more than 30 years of experience as an advisor to companies ranging from emerging growth to large, publicly traded enterprises with an approachable, principled, and no-nonsense style. Over the course of his career, Brooks has advised clients in merger and acquisition transactions as well as debt and equity placements. Brooks specializes in working with companies that provide business services to commercial and consumer markets across a wide range of industries.

Prior to joining Balmoral in 2020, Brooks served as Managing Director and Partner of The Chicago Corporation. Earlier, Brooks founded and led his own investment banking firm, Highland Ridge Capital. He began his career at J.P. Morgan Securities and its predecessor companies in Chicago and London, concluding an 18-year tenure as Managing Director.

Brooks’ views on the services sector have been published in various periodicals, and he shares his expertise through newsletter and video commentary. Brooks also serves as speaker and panelist at industry conferences. He earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance and Corporate Strategy from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Brooks is a FINRA-registered financial professional and general securities principal.
