Dave Kakareka

Managing Director

David Kakareka is a Managing Director at Balmoral Advisors where he works closely with clients to develop and execute mergers and acquisitions strategies and capital raise mandates, with a particular focus on industrial and building products companies. A career investment banker, Dave brings nearly two decades of experience advising business owners, executives and investors on successful transactions across a wide range of industries. He is actively engaged in every phase of client engagement, providing hands-on leadership alongside a strong team of highly skilled professionals.

Prior to Balmoral, Dave spent his entire career with Jordan Knauff & Company (JKC), a boutique investment bank, where he rose from Analyst to Managing Director. At JKC, he developed extensive experience in all phases of mergers and acquisitions and capital raise activities. Providing support to the building products industry practice, he led proprietary research initiatives, webinars, and presentations to industry trade shows and conferences. In addition to his transaction support and research activities, Dave was involved in all aspects of managing the firm’s internal administration and regulatory requirements, as well as providing direction and leadership in the creation of firm and client marketing materials.

Dave earned a BS in finance from Eastern Illinois University and an MBA in finance and economics from Loyola University Chicago Graduate School of Business. His team was recognized as the winner of the Energy Services & Manufacturing Deal of the Year for the sale of Dynapower Company, LLC to Pfingsten Partners in 2013. He was also named an Emerging Leader by The M&A Advisor in 2017 and Top 50: America’s Rising Dealmakers by the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Network in 2018.  Dave is a FINRA-registered financial professional and general securities principal.
