Gary Denning

Senior Advisor

Gary Denning is a Senior Advisor to Balmoral Advisors, working with clients primarily in the Building Products, Chemicals and Materials, and Industrials industries. He has more than 25 years of experience in as an investment banker, independent M&A consultant, corporate development executive and board member.

Gary has worked on more than 180 M&A transactions over the course of his career. As an Investment Banker, prior to joining Balmoral Advisors he was a Vice President in M&A at Chase Manhattan Bank, a Managing Director at Bear Stearns and the Founder and Head of the Chemicals and Plastics practice at Houlihan Lokey. He was also an independent M&A consultant for 6 years.

As an executive, Gary spent three years as Vice President, Head of Corporate Development and M&A for Axiall Corporation, a $4 billion public company active in chemicals and building products company that was later acquired by Westlake Chemical. He also served as Interim Head of Corporate Development for GCP Applied Technology, which was later acquired by Saint Gobain.

Gary has a BA from Duke University, an MA from Emory University and an MBA from Fordham University. He has served on the Board of Directors of four industrial companies:  Arclin (phenol-formaldehyde resins and building products), FloraTech (natural additives for personal care products), Centilion (fertilizers), and Canlak (wood coatings).
